Rich - Don't take this as 100% and make plans based on it but I believe this is more or less correct.
Top 6 teams are automatically in the quarterfinals. The bottom 6 play a double elimination tournament to determine the last two spots. I believe that is the weekend after labor day. Then the following weekend there are 4 series which are all best of 3 with the winners advancing to the following weekend for another best of 3 series and those 2 winners meet in the championship the following weekend which is also best of 3.
Just an observation for next season....the 45 playoff process should consider following the 55 playoff format and process....after X number of regular seasons games, a double elimination play-in process for the lower seeds, a round robin reseeding for upper teams, all followed by a double elimination championship tier. Not all may understand the process, but I am sure league management does. This was the first year the 55 following this playoff structure, and it seems to be a huge success and well liked by the players. There are no best 2 of 3 series, rather a double elimination tournament. All teams were guaranteed a minimum 16 games, up to 20 if you advance to the championship game. Just my observation and recommendation.

True, 45s have a double elimination, I was more angling for removing the traditional best 2 of 3 format in favor of a winners bracket / losers bracket so teams can play different teams through the championship round, when the final eight teams are decided. Again just a thought for next year.
