Whiz won 6-1. It was 0-0 after 3, then the Whiz scored 3 more over the final 3 innings.
Mike Kane , keeping the ball down and continually changing speed, pitched well for the Whiz. The Twins hit the ball hard a number of times but almost always right at someone.
Best of luck to the Whiz going forward.

Just a note on Mike: Against the Cards the other night, in 6 innings, he did not allow a fly ball into the outfield. I stood in CF all game and could have been facing the opposite direction with the same result. Against the Twins last night, I believe there was one ball caught in LF in the 1st inning. In the 7th, another guy hit one to RF. There were a few hard grounders that got through.
These stupefied outfielders are bored out of their minds, staring vacantly into the middle distance. Mike's downright soporific. It's like if you've ever been to a dementia ward -- that's the expression on our outfielder's faces when they come in from the field. They don't recognize the faces of our infielders anymore. They keep asking me when I'm going to pitch again. Because, you know: ACTION!

This time the Whiz did a better job of supporting Mike's performance by collecting 12 hits. The team was led by: Jim Preller:3-4, 1 r, 1 RBI Mike Kane:1-4, 2 r Reggie Flansburg:2-4, 3 RBI, 1 r Andy Kramarchyk:2-4, 1 r
I'd like to congratulate Jim Edelman and the rest of the Twins on a fine season. Jim has done a great job of assembling a team of good players. They were certainly the talk of the 55+ Division. They've taken huge strides over the past two years.
