Albany Caps 50+ Fall Classic game 1
(Preview)
Tournament jitters, cobwebs, breaking the ice.... I do not know what to call it but the Mustangs pitcher was not overpowering and yet we could not string the hits together within an inning to pull off game one. Curt Tucker lead off the game with a double to right and we left him stranded. Don Ball got a sin...

It never gets easier to write this post.
(Preview)
It never gets easier to write this post. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the Cubs did not win the final. The Puerto Rico Athleticos completed an improbable 3 game sweep of of the top 3 seeds. After beating the defending champs in the quarter finals, the A's came back from 6 runs down against the numb...

This Semi-final was a war!
(Preview)
Both teams entered the game after playing 9 innings in 87 degree heat with high humidity. The carrot of being just one win away from being in the championship game made all of the fatigue and pain disappear for 3 hours. The Cubs again jumped out on top, in the 1st inning. This time a base running mistake tu...

Cubs handle Puerto Rico 7-3.
(Preview)
This is a first for me! Being on a team that beats a team from Puerto Rico is definitely a first for me. The Cubs handed the ball to Jimmy Konstantakis to hopefully get 5 or 6 innings of solid pitching, and then we would "piece together" the back half of the game, depending on the game situation. Jimmy start...

Albany Cubs' pitchers shut out the NJ Reds!
(Preview)
The story of today's game starts with Albany's outstanding pitching. Bob Bolt saw his first action of the tournament (and it won't be his last) in starting game three against a tough NJ Reds line up that came into the game undefeated (including a game one win over Puerto Rico). He was masterful, going 5...

The Cubs offense supported Ron with 2 runs in the 1st, 2 runs in the 2nd, and 3 runs in the 3rd. With a 7-1 lead,...
