Team Albany ousted
(Preview)
Despite a strong outing on Thursday against Puerto Rico, Team Albany fell 8-4 and was thus eliminated from tournament play. We'll be gathering tonight for a team party to lick our wounds and share battle stories, and get two bonus days of beach and sun before heading back to the northeast. In spite of t...

Albany Capitals move forward!
(Preview)
It's a great pleasure to let my CDMSBL friends know that even with today's tough loss 10-2 to the US Crusiers, we did enough damage in this weeks tournament to qualify as a wild card in this weekends playoffs. Today Mark Marshall went 8 and Tony Parella closed in what became a 9 inning game in under 2 1/2 hr...

Team Albany drops two
(Preview)
A tough day for the 56-Team Albany on Wednesday, as wilted under the hot Florida sun and dropped a pair of games to All-Star Baseball Academy and defending champion Maryland. We jumped out to a 2-0 advantage in the first inning of both games, but the leads evaporated quickly. Defense has underachieve...

Albany Capitals surprise Fairfax Americans
(Preview)
I feel compelled to try to share the anxiety and emotions our Albany Capitals just experienced at our 4rth game in 3 days. I'll start in the 7th inning being down 7-4 knowing we only had time to play about 2 innings before the 3 hr time limit and having to squeeze in our 14 th batter Bobby Hiller ( by tourname...

Capitals Get First Win

The first two days didn't exactly go as planned for the Albany Capitals (45+) at the Fall Classic, but when the dust settled, the team was 1-2 with opportunities to move up the standings. Game one on Monday against the Delaware Diamondbacks, a playoff team last year, was played in a light steady rain al...

Team Albany splits
(Preview)
Don't have the scorebook in front of me, but I can tell you that a doubleheader of action in the 56-division ended with a thrilling 11-10 night game victory over the DC Express tonight. Jerry Solomon reared back to strike out the final batter of the game with the tying run on the third and the go-ahead run...

DC Mustangs 2-0
(Preview)
Chris Dunn pitched the best game I've ever seen him pitch and I got to watch it all from centerfield. Chris who didn't throw anything but a fastball for the first six innings was just wild enough to keep them off balance. He pitched a complete game 4 hitter as we won 3-1. We also came from behind to win our se...
