On a beautiful baseball evening, the expansion Met's got their 1st win last night by a score of 5-3. Dan Maynard pitched a complete game gem and kept the potent pirate offensive off balance with his Glavine like control. Steve Lounello pitched a great game in defeat, and yes he is back, with another strong performance after the game he threw the other night. There was some good defensive plays to save the lead. Overall a good played game by both teams and it feels great to say we got our 1st win. Our record is now 1-2 Jim Bonaparte MET'S
Jim, you really minimized a few keys plays with a " a good defensive effort", your Center Fielder made a major league play with the diving catch to rob Ron Smaka of at least a double and two RBI's. it was an amazing catch. Also, your second baseman made a leaping snag of another low flying missile off the bat, again, of Ron Smaka that would have been another RBI hit.
