The 47 Hornets emerged from a month's inactivity in the nest to sting the Whiz Kids 11-1 in a hot, muggy Saturday game. Dave Madden went the distance for the win, backed by a defense that turned four twin killings. Dick Stark led the Hornets attack with three hits and four RBIs. Anthony Torre doubled for the Whiz Kids, but was nailed at third trying to stretch it to a 3B.
Congrats to the Hornets on their victory. They have added some strong players to an already good nucleus of players. They will be a force to be reckoned with this year. Not quite the same without Hondo and everything he brings to the ballpark. Jim Porter-Manager-WhizKids
