Once again I am attempting to put a team together for a national tournament. This one is the World Series in Arizona. October 21st-26th. Im looking to put together a 45 wood bat team. We can have two waivers. Im one of the waivers so I can take one guy who is at least 43 and not a pitcher. I am going to be as selective as possible. It's really nice to be able to compete, so we are looking for guys who really can play. We will play against plenty of ex major leaguers and it will be absolutely the best time.
Now I know that Albany is also taking a couple of teams to Florida in November, so those guys might have a good excuse not to go. But for the rest of you, this is when you have to ask yourself if you truly are serious about playing ball. The tournaments are the only thing that separates us from being a glorified beer league. Why shouldnt Albany start to make a name ourselves just like the Wolf Pack from Boston. Ill even go one step further and say if anyone feels they dont want me to run a team Ill be happy to help anyone who will step up to the challenge.
We have so much hidden talent in Albany. Ive been to enough of these to know that we can field a winning team. Also I know that once you play with a bunch of guys in a competition like this you come away with unbelievable memories and friends for a life time. And you never know You might even get your picture in the magazine!!!
My personal belief is that anyone who persists in childish name-calling should be 1) thrown off the board; and 2) suspended three games from the league.
Because it contributes nothing.
People -- even Blumpkins -- should be able to post their thoughts without being subjected to personal criticism. You can respond to that with yet another limp one-liner, or just try to do better in the future.
