Golden Marlins versus Black Sox

Sunday afternoon, storms threatening, rain all about, yet at New Scotland Town Park it appears the baseball gods are ruling the weather. It is overcast but most importantly dry. The Marlins at 6-1 are atop the standings in the 47 division. Maney leads off the game with a sharp single. How often has that line been written? He steals second. How often has that line been written? Now the Black Sox hurler, Burriesci, only has to face the formidable Ansel, followed by Treece and newly off the DL,Chris Meyers. Burriesci was up to the task inducing two groundouts and a K.

Sarubbi leads off for the Black Sox and walks. How often has.... He steals second. How often has.... He scores on a single by Meyers, who in turn scores on a mammouth double by Noto, who in turn scores on a single by Gary Fish, the younger of the Fish brothers. The Sox add a run in the second to go up 4-0. In the top of the third Burriesci experience a pain in his left hip area, a nagging injury all year long, and after a visit to the mound he assures his manager he can continue on the mound. Bill, I'm sorry I don't have your last name but the lineup given to me only contained first names, hit a sharp single and scored on a double by Randy ?. Next up was Maney, who singled, putting runners at the corners. Ansel steps into the batter's box ready to wreck some havoc. A line shot off his bat up the middle, snagged by Burriesci who throws to Noto at third and inning over. Burriesci cast his line and netted the Marlins the rest of the way. The Sox added two more runs with the final score being 6-1. Koster had two hits and played a solid second base for the Sox.

We face the fish again in a few days and I know they'll be ready. But, so will we!

There is a saying in the Bronx, famous to some infamous to others, and it pains me too much to repeat it. But in honor to the man who hails from the Bronx, "Buriesci wins, Buriesci wins, Buriesci wins!"
