Who needs young players?!!!!

Two "veterans" keyed a Marlins 5-1 victory Monday night over the Reds at RCS high school. Jim Latorre (nobody checking his ID at the door) was dominant in allowing just one hit and one run. He had all four pitches working with the fastball being overpowering at times. The Reds plated one run in the top of the first when the Reds #3 hitter chased strike three in the dirt with a runner on third. The ball eluded Marlins catcher, Curt Coons and the runner from third scored easily. After that it was lights out. John Reel (born before they even had birth certificates) had two hits, including a key RBI single in the Marlins 5 run third inning.
I must mention that I really appreciated the play of the left side of the Reds infield last night. Robbie Helms at third and the shortstop (didn't get his name) were awesome. They made every play and looked like kids! This team is going to be trouble if they can get some pitching.

It's good to hear Johnny's OK. Lost in the shuffle on Sunday I plunked John pretty good on his elbow. Ansel came up later and opened up his stance even more. Right foot in the back of the box and the left -I think was behind our catcher. Can give a person a complex.
