Congrats to the entire Black Sox team on a super inaugural season. Donny put together nice club, with a great bunch of guys, and they were classy champions thru-out the entire regular season. Yesterdays score was not symbolic of this teams talent, their class and sportsmanship was. Tom Maney
Tommy, thanks, coming from you that means a lot. After all the adversity you've been through you always have a smile, a joke and a positive attitude. You are the definition of "class."
It had been four years since I played and now I remember what I'd been missing. The comaraderie, the friendships, the baseball, and most importantly, the respect and support every guy shows for each other. I can't say thank you enough to guys like John Reel and Kevin Jackson and all the other board members who keep this league thriving and growing. We are truly fortunate to have such dedicated men who spend so much of their time for our benefit.
And I have to pay tribute to the guy that taught me that there is still baseball after we "grow up," Jimmy Jordan. We play for the respect of our teammates and for the respect of our opponents, but most of all we play for fun!

Thank you for the kind words Tom. I too had been out of baseball for 20+ years and to be able to return and be a part of a truly great team and fabulous league was a big thrill. Tom, thank you for the thoughtful words. I had just unloaded the equipment from my car when I turned around and who did I see? Tom, and Tom in uniform!!! You're a helluva a man in so many ways, a great ballplayer, a kind and considerate human being to all who know you. The Sox are a great bunch of teammates and I know I can speak for all of them when I say we all wish we could have given you a better contest Saturday. You and the Marlins exhibit great sportsmanship and class at all times. Good luck to the Marlins and Yankees in the 47 finals. So many players are talking about being at the 38 finals, yet I'm sure if they venture out to the 47 finals they'll see some exciting and gripping baseball.
I want to amplify Tom's comments on the Black Sox. They are a quality bunch of players and a great group of folks. They played excellent baseball all year and deserved the regular season championship. Thanks for joining the league, guys, and making it a better sports experience for all of us. And, thanks for recognizing Tom Maney. He is a very special teammate. And, a heck of a ball player.
