Just wanted to send out a message, letting you know, that Seve VanGelder, lost his brother today, after a long illness. Steve is one of the better guys around, and I'm sure, he could use everyones support, in this time of loss for Steve, and his entire family.
Thanx for posting this, Mike. Steve, indeed, is one of the league's good guys, and to lose a brother from brain cancer at age 52 is tragic. Steve and his family have been going through quite an ordeal for quite some time now. My prayers go out to them. I'm sure the obit will be in the Times Union and in its online editions, too. JimK
Mark and I were classmates at Berne-Knox. As seniors, our team won the league title in basketball, and he was named Co-MVP. Twenty years later, as coaches, we led the team to another title. Mark was a fierce competitor, great athlete, and good friend. He will be missed, and my thoughts and prayers go to his family and friends. Jim Porter WhizKids Manager
