For all those who are friends of Dave Mitchell ...

Dave's Dad passed away this past Wednesday, November 7th. As many of you know, Dave's Dad had been fighting a losing battle with pancreatic cancer for some time. John J. Mitchell Jr.'s battle is over and he is finally at rest. There will be an obituary in Wednesday morning's paper, but I thought that it would be better if we also put this notice on the bulletin board so that Dave's friends would be more likely to see it. I personally don't see anything that is not in the "Sports Section".
There will be calling hours from 4 to 8 pm on Friday 11/16, at Newcomer-Cannon Family Funeral Home at 343 New Karner Road, in Colonie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning 11/17, at 10:00am at St.Joseph's Church, 600 State Street, Schenectady.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, 1111 Stewart Ave., Bethpage, NY 11714 or City Mission of Schenectady, 425 Hamilton Street, Schenectady, NY 12305 in memory of John.

Dave I am so sorry for your loss, I know too well the battle you ,your family and most of all your father has been through. I lost my Dad in 03 to pancreatic cancer also at age 62 , it is an unbelievable and horrific disease.I hope that your time with your dad was fulfilling and rewarding and that you were able to feel at peace with him. It is very difficult to lose someone so near and dear to us to an illness that seems so unfair and yet so untreatable. I can only wish you all the strength and hope that it will take to begin the healing process. My prayers go out to you and your family.

sincerely , Dave Webber 38 bluejays
