The new Bethlehem Mickey Mantle, Inc. is a local youth sports organization that is the home of the Bethlehem Braves travel baseball club. The BRAVES will play organized, competitive AABC baseball with our 14U, 15U and 16 year old teams in the Eastern New York Mickey Mantle Baseball League. Our teams will play mid-April through mid-July regular season, with post season tournaments against teams from Albany, Cambridge, Chatham, Clifton Park, Cohoes, Colonie, Coxsackie, Greenwich, Halfmoon, Lansingburgh, Queensbury, Rotterdam, Saratoga, Schenectady, Scotia, Sorensco, and Twin Town. www.bethlehembraves.com Some local baseball history: Bethlehem Mickey Mantle was first started back in 1987 by local baseball Coach Jesse Braverman. Under Jesse's leadership for 18 seasons, the teams performed at the top of the list every year through 2004. (see below) In the spirit of what Jesse did so well with our youth, three Bethlehem area baseball coaches have formed a new not-for-profit corporation that is designed to replicate that positive experience beginning with the 2008 season. Each of our teams will be named the Bethlehem Braves, in honor of Jesse Braverman. After being inactive for 3 years, Bethlehem Mickey Mantle is back! And so is Jesse. He is our "Special Advisor to the Bethlehem Braves". With a .729 winning percentage with the Bethlehem teams he was involved in, the new BMM is surely going to be an exciting time for Baseball in Bethlehem.
