CDMSBL Radio Plug

I realize this post maybe late getting to many of you but I close friend of mine who is a DJ for Moon Radio 1160 AM called me and asked me to call his station at 12:30PM this Sunday to discuss the CDMSBL, the leagues and age brackets and who to contact. It will give those interested in joining now and in the future important info. about league Hopefully this will give our league some quality exposure.

Artie,

Perhaps 1160 would be interested in broadcasting some games? Local radio stations often search for filler programming, might be worth a question...

I've been watching this post with some interest over the past day or two. Artie--hope your appearance on 1160 went/goes well. I've been happy to help out myself a few times over the years as far as giving the league some air time on 810 WGY, but I also wanted to pass on a few words about having a station air some games, as was suggested. Radio stations are all about making money--like everyone else--so the chances of a station just doing some of our games as "filler" are pretty remote. Where I have had some success--and some response--in the past (Tampa, Fla MSBL), involved either the Public Access or Government Access TV stations. Because of the relationship we had with the city in Tampa, we were able to corral loads of air time on the Government Access TV channel, and aired one of the league's championship games. One year, for example, it might have been the 30+ division. Another year, the 40+. I took care of the PBP...we had one of the managers do color commentary, plenty of turnout at the field from the league, and it was a lot of fun. Now, I know we don't have that kind of relationship with the local city halls, but it still might be worth pursuing...at least to see what might happen. Everybody has a public access station nowadays....you never know. As my mom used to say....the worst they can say is no.

Your mother was very wise. It doesn't hurt to ask. Good idea.
