The Albany Nationals got themselves back in the race after beating the Pirates 9-7 at a cold Bob Moore on Monday Night. The Nationals defense was shaky to start the game to say the least, but the offense kept them in it.
Eddie Donnelly led the charge in this one going 2-2, walk, 3 SB, 2 Runs and 2 RBI's. The Nationals leadoff hitter has been hot of late.
Joe Fitzgerald pitched a complete game 6 hitter with 0 ER and 6 SO.
Brian Donnelly chipped in going 1-1 with 3 Runs, SB, HBP and a SB and Bobby Lane was 1-3, 2 Runs, BB and 2 SB.
For the Pirates, both Chuck Jasinski and Nappi had 2 hits.
As for the Nationals, a game under the lights was a great change. We had more fans there for this game then any of our weekend day games. Any other opportunities for us to play under the lights would be appreciated. Everyone seemed to think that Bob Moore is too small to use aluminum bats on.....but it wasn't on this night.
