Dennis Pierce sent a bases loaded, one out signal flare to center, allowing Don Dennis to slide home with the winning run as the WhizKids rallied from a 2-0 deficit to beat the Dodgers 3-2. Ed Klopfer went the distance for the'Kids, giving up 1 earned run while striking out 11. JP (lastname?) also went the distance, keeping the 'Kids off balance with his variety of pitches. Gino Rodriguez led off the game with a single, stolen base, and scored on a groudout by LaBarge. Ed Rodgers scored in the 3rd for their 2nd run. Bob Bollentin, in his WhizKid debut, led off the 4th with a double, and scored on a base hit by Klopfer. Jeff Teats scored the tying run in the 5th, setting the stage for the late inning drama.
