Friday night in West Albany was the setting for a great game between the A's and Orioles. A pitchers duel saw the game scoreless through 5 and 1/2. A two-out error in the 6th followed by a walk led to a clutch 3-run homer to center by Doug Reisinger on a 3-2 pitch and a 3-0 Orioles lead. In the A's half of the 7th George Schillinger started things off with a single, his second hit of the game, followed by a walk and then 4 straight singles from Ed Class, Laddie Mawrey (2 hits), Jeff Kruzinski (2 hits), and Kevin Golden. A fielders choice plated the 4th run. In the bottom of the 7th, Jeff Kruzinski closed things out with a 1-2-3 inning running his record to 3-0 on the season. A big win for the A's against the defending champs.
West Albany is a great field to play on. Let's hope this can be one of our main fields to play on. That one in Scotia (not Bob Moore) has to go. If you get a chance to play here you'll see.
