Blue Jays vs METS 06.26.08

The rain subsided and the sun came out last night, this was the only bright spot of the game for the Mets. Our Nemesis for the last year and a half of our exisitence beat us again last night 8-1, behind a complete game victory for his Jays kepping us off balance all night. Not sure what his name was. We only managed 4 singles all game . Congrats to the Jays on a hard fought victory and we'll see ya next time.

Jim, It was good to see you and your Mets last night. The Jays respect and like you and your club. Forgetting the outcome of the game - our team commented on how much we have enjoyed the games that we have played in Scotia against the Mets. There always seems to a pure feeling of playing baseball on those occasions - with no other distractions - much like sand lot ball of years ago. I think it is a combination of the chemistry between the 2 clubs, the field itself and the competition. Thanks for getting the field ready and in such good shape and thanks for the compliments in your write-up about our club. I'll make sure our players read it. I'd like to add that the Mets played the game without a few of their top players but you did not complain about that or mention it. The name of our pitcher last night is Rick Loffredo. Thanks for mentioning his good pitching performance. Rick has been a dedicated Jay for years. He seems to be getting better each season. He loves the game of baseball and he loves his team mates and suppots them all. He is quiet about his dedication but there is no mistaken when you look into his eyes. See you guys next time.

Mike and Jim,

Early in the season I was filling in for the Reds until they got their full complement of players, and I played against both of your teams. The Reds were defeated soundly by both the Mets and Jays. Hits galore by both of your teams, but another commonality was Rick pitched against us and pitched the finest game I have seen him throw since I've been in the league, which I don't even remember how long it has been, some where around 10 or 12 years. Quiet, unassuming, but a fierce competitor, whom I have always enjoyed playing against, Rick, and his loyalty to the Jays, is a credit to the CDMSBL. Good teams, outstanding men, good luck the rest of the way.

Don,

From Rick and the rest of the Jays - thank you very much for those compliments. I will forward your posting on to the rest of the team to make sure they read it. See you on the field.
