Yesterday, I traveled to Cooperstown to participate in the annual Shasky vs Shasky showdown.
I parked in the lot right behind Doubleday field. I got out of my car, greeted my teammates (all of five minutes) and went back to my car to get my gear.
To my surprise, there was parking ticket under my wiper blade. The meter man was one car away. I explained that I had just arrived and didn't have time to purchase a parking ticket. He was an understanding person and he took my ticket.
This was the first time I'd ever heard of this. Apparently, the Village of Cooperstown started to charge for parking in this lot starting June 1. Until this year, parking in this lot was free.
I know there's a quite a few of us who have parked in this lot many times. I just want to alert everyone if they park in this lot in the future, they need to get a parking ticket at the automated booth ($2.00 per hour) or else they will receive a parking ticket ($35.00)
