The Mets struck for seven runs in the top of the sixth inning and defeated the Highlanders at SUNY on Wednesday night. Herlett was the winning pitcher and Kalinski took the loss.
The score is not indicative of how close this game was. The Highlanders were on us the whole game, they were ahead 3-0 until the 6th as Cos said. Tony Skrabs threw one runner out at the plate to stop a rally. Kevin Jackson hit some really hard balls and flew out to deep center. Definitely a home run on a couple of fields. John Kalinski had us off balance all game and pitched extremely well in the loss. Lex Hung in there and pitched a complete game as well to run his record to 3-0 for the season. On offense Dan Maynard hit 2 long doubles, Ryan Johnson a double and a single, and a few singles by a few players. A great game by both teams and Good luck the rest of the way to the Highlanders, they are a tough team.
