37+ - A's 8 - Cubs 7 (7/12 New Scotland)

As told by David Schillinger...

The A's jumped out to a 4-0 lead after 2 innings thanks in part to a Jim Moore single and back to back doubles by Jim Hicks and Herb Cepeda, the Cubs looked to take control with 4 in the third and 3 in the fourth. The A's tied things at 7 with 3 of their own in the bottom of the fourth aided by three Cubs errors. The game remained tied until the bottom of the sixth when the A's mounted a 2-out rally with a Jim Moore single and stolen base, an error by the shortstop and an rbi single by Wayne Newcomb, who continues to deliver a hit as often as we see a full moon. The top four in the Cubs lineup, T. Maney, S. Maney, Ryan, and Hoyle were a combined 8-14. Herb Cepeda recorded the win and Brian Kent the save. The A's run their record to 8-6.
