First things first - Kudos to whoever is responsible for Bob Moore. It was already a nice place to play, but the ramp on the left side of the infield has been eliminated and the dugouts are awesome.
Sox struck for four in the first as Gramuglia, Glenmeyer, Novak, Noto and Smith all reached safely before the first out was recorded. The 4-0 lead didn't last long as the Shaskys answered back with 3 in the bottom of the first and another in the bottom of the 3rd to tie it up. A nifty double play by Don McCann saved at least two runs.
Sox went ahead for good in top of the fifth with three and tacked another on in the sixth for a final of 8-4, although the Shaskys kept the outcome in doubt by fighting until the last out.
Bobby Gramuglia was 4-4 with 3 runs and an SB, while Noto, Smith, and Rick Koster each chipped in two hits. The Shaskys countered with their leadoff hitter Melendez reaching safely in all three at bats and scoring two runs and Phelps was 2-3.
Game MVP goes to Rodney Dunbar who not only went 1-3 with a bb, but had 15 hot dogs ready to go in the parking lot in ten minutes. Who needs George Foreman?
