On a gorgeous evening in Voorheesville, the Whiz Kidz came out to play ball against Blue Thunder in the season finale between these two teams. Behind the terrific pitching of Rich Garbarino, a two run base hit from Tim Brown and the flexibility of both teams (who both, at times, during the game were short players), Blue Thunder walked away with a 5-1 victory. Thank you to the Whiz Kidz who, as always, played a terrific no holds barred game with mucho sportsmenship and comradery. All the players walked away shaking hands and enjoying snacks and refreshments after the game. Now isn't that what playing baseball is all about. No injuries, no sores, no broken bones - as it should be. Thanks again Whiz Kidz for a terrific game on a terrific day. See you guys in the playoffs. As a side note, thank you to Don Ball from the Veterans who filled our roster for the game and to Jim Porter for letting us borrow a player so that the game could continue as it should. Submitted by Bob Lounsbury, General Manager of Blue Thunder.
Always a pleasure to play the Blue Thunder. Bob Lounsbury has assembled a team of good players that are good sportsmen as well. Good luck the rest of the regular season, and the playoffs. Also a big thanks to Jim Konstantakis for being our 9th player. Jim Porter-Manager-WhizKids
