Well, we got this one out of the way-- just barely.
We played well into the night (or, at least, pretty well...) and when it was over, after five innings in darkest Kinderhook, the score was Cougars 14, Veterans 7.
Brad Buchan and Frank Pino led the Vets with two hits apiece. Brad did some pitching, too, and his sharp-breaking "yakker" left a number of us Cats yakking to ourselves.
The Cougars had many players with two hits. And Dave "The Magician" Plew pitched three good innings.
Sincerest thanks to John Kalinski (and the other gentleman, whose name now eludes me) for doing their best to allow us to complete five. But, then, John can always be counted on to do a solid, professional job.
