First of all I wanted to let you know that this isn't something I normally do but feel compelled to help out as much as I can as heart disease is something that is prevalent in my family. Also, in no way is the site (CDMSBL) affiliated with this.

I am helping the American Heart Association fight the nation's leading causes of death by participating in the Heart Walk. Heart disease is often genetic; this is certainly the case in my family. My father lost both of his parents to heart attacks. My father and 3 of his 4 siblings (two brothers and a sister) suffered heart attacks before their 50th-birthdays. Unfortunately, my mothers family also struggles with heart-related illness, including high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Her brother had a stroke just a few years ago, again before his 50th-birthday. Myself, I have both high blood pressure and cholesterol. Needless to say, with my family history, I have been monitoring and acting proactively to fend off heart disease for many years.
