The Golden Marlins started their 2008 playoff season last night against the Dodgers at Rogowicz field at Cook Park in Colonie. Dennis Scimeca threw a complete game for the 14-4 win. The Goldens got some great defense and a four hit performance from third baseman Ron Lochner. Mike Girard added a 5-5, 7 RBI night at the plate, that included a 3-run homer in the 5th inning. The 3 and 4 hitters for the Fish seemed to always be up with men in scoring position, largely due to the efforts of Tom Maney and Randy Craft (two of the best table setters in the league). I don't have the book, so Ed will have to give the highlights for the Dodgers. The Golden Marlins advance to the semi-finals to face the Yankees, with game one scheduled for Sunday at 4:00pm at New Scotland. It should be a great series. It always is!
Hey Jonny, What? Are you running for office or something?
All kidding aside, THANKS!
I sure would like to have you on our side for this run. You were real strong in the Cubbies run!
It is probably better that you are saving your arm strength for Florida. Did you ask Ted if he is interested in joining us on the "Classic" team yet? We would love to have him. Jimmy McQ was telling me that his arm was very sore when he left for his return home. How does he feel now?
