this is it. unless we get rained out. seasons gotten longer and longer. we were originally scheduled to complete this September 13th. Dick and I worked all day to adjust the schedule when we learned the New Scotland field had been booked. It wasn't easy tracking down the field coordinators and weighing our options on the fly. as it is we moved things slightly time wise and to some pretty good fields. Thanks to Dick ,Kevin the people at Cook Park, Clifton commons and even the MSBL national where we needed a quick insurance cert , for their diligence. so moving it ain't gonna happen.
One thing considered and pre-planned is that if the first game is threatened by darkness, the umps are encouraged to suspend it and take it over to the other field to complete prior to the Second game. .....And if its too cold we'll be building a bonfire..... To think this all started in early May!
1) It's October and we are still swinging bats 2) Sunday will be beautiful; crisp autumn air just like the big leaguers are playing in. 3) It makes the off season shorter 4) We are playing for the championship 5) What else are we gonna do on a Sunday in October; watch football, eat and drink on our way to packing on our winter 20 lbs? UGH!!!!
OK....I'm lovin still playing but these night games are rough on us outfielders. Another thing maybe we can think about for next year is a finding a local field with some decent lights. (if there are any) Clifton Commons is not bad...but other than Gruner I haven't seen any others. Good Luck to all..should be a great series.
