There's a local woodworker , Matt McDonald , that has been making custom bats for several of us in cdmsbl and Hobbes . I had a maple 34x32 made that I used all season with good results . I see that he now has a website, mattbats.com . The unique thing is his knowledge of wood types & grain having been trained as a furniture maker . I'm getting some hickory for him to make me another. He also does custom engraving and can make bats as momentos, awards, gifts, etc. Check out the site if you're interested. I'm trying to get him to bring some examples , explain the processes, etc. to the awards banquet this year also.
