I offered this up buried in another post. :
I'd like to see if there is interest in holding a fathers/sons game this coming fathers day. I haven't thought through to the details but if there is significant interest i'll orgainize this. let me know your interest and thoughts right here. I saw three already on the buried post.

John,

Sounds great!...my son Matt and I are in.

Just what you need..another event to organize. I'll be happy to help.

John,

I would love to help as well as this would be an awesome thing to have the press watch. My dad is 74 and may be unable to play so if he declines would someone like to be my dad for the day so I can play in this game?

I'm not sure Jerry Solomon visits this BB, but he has traveled to Arizona with his son for this kind of event. I am pretty sure that he and his son would be in.

I am definitely in......you may want to give some thought to the format because of the varying ages of our kids.....my son is only 12 but has played on the all star team, cooperstown team and would hold his own.......maybe if there is a ton of interest set up 2 games ...one with older kids and one with younger?

John - i would be happy to help organize as well.....if you are looking for cheap umps our little league uses some local college kids who do a great job at a fraction of the price.

I'll try to convince my father to play (he's 64), but would have to travel from Cape Cod. I'll pressure him into it if the game is on.

JUST TO CLARIFY, THE MINIMUM AGE SHOULD BE 18 - SHOULDN'T IT? WE DON'T WANT ANYONE GETTING HURT AND WE DON'T WANT TO HAVE THE PITCHERS THROWING UNDERHAND, DO WE?
IF THERE IS NO AGE LIMIT, THEN I JUST MAY HAVE TO PULL AN EDDIE GAEDEL AND USE MY 10 MONTH OLD SON TO PINCH HIT IN A KEY SITUATION.

Seems a shame not to be able to involve the younger kids somehow.....they (and their fathers!) would all enjoy it..

having said that i agree 100% that they shouldn't be in the same game with the older kids......maybe two games?

Just a thought on a age limit. Some kids 14 and up play Babe Ruth and have been playing organized ball for several years and know what to expect in the batters box. They face some kids that throw just as hard if not harder than some of our pitchers.I would just hate to see these kids left out of a chance to play.

my son is 15 and can be a desinated runner for the older guys...but I agree with Ed, all should be included, we all have insurance, yes??? It wouldn't be fair for us "younger" dads...

Gino - What's a Desinated Runner? Is that a kid that runs Desinex out to the older guys? And "younger dad" - than who, Abe Lincoln?
