Friday night at New Scotland, the Silver Marlins beat the A's 7-5. Both teams did all their scoring in one inning. The Marlins exploded for 7 runs in the bottom of the second inning off the A's starter. The Fish used 4 walks, a two-run home run from Curt Coons, a 2-RBI single from Paul Miles, a RBI double from Randy Craft, and a 2-RBI double from Mike Girard, to give the Marlins a 7-0 lead. The A's brought in Bucky Kruzinski and that was the end of the Marlins scoring. As often happens with a big lead, Marlins starter Phil Gadomski started to pitch more conservatively so as to not walk hitters with the big lead. In the bottom of the fourth inning, The A's strung together 7 hits to make the score 7-5. At that point, Mash got back to pitching to the corners for the 6th and 7th innings and shut the A's down the rest of the way. This A's line-up has solid hitters from top to bottom. The 35+ divisions' pitchers are going to feel like they are navigating through a mine field as they try to work their way through the A's batting order. Good Luck!
