The Yankees had to come from behind to beat the pesky Dodgers 9-3. After the first 4, Yanks were down 3-1 behind the pitching of Brett Conlin. In the bottom of the 5th, the Yanks broke thru with 4, as well as adding another 4 runs in the sixth to take a 9-3 lead which was the final score. For the Yankees, Jerry Solomon went the distance, giving up 2 earned runs, puching out 8, and scattering 10 hits over 7. For the Yankees offensively, Mike Eplite doubled, singled, knocking in 4, and Steve Vangelder/ Ralph Caputo both contributed to the win with a double and single also. For the Dodgers, Big ( hit man) Nick Kanellis banged out 3 hits, with a double, 2 singles, and Ed Ober........ added 3 singles. Yanks improve to 2-3, and the Dodgers fall to 2-3.
