HumminBirds defeat the Cubs 5-2 to advance to the division semi-finals. John LaTorre went the distance for the Birds and limited the Cubs to two quiet runs. HumminBirds played solid defense as usual and got timely hitting, including yesterday's two-run hit by Ronnie Coon in the bottom of the fifth.
Congratulations to the H'Birds, Orioles, Mets and especially my former teammates and friends the PIRATES for advancing to the semis! Go Bucs!
I and all the Pirates appreciate your support. After a rocky first half, you guys turned it around and showed why the Cubs were the 2008 35 league champs in their 1st yr in this division. I expect you guys to remain very dangerous for years to come.
