Congrats to the Hornets!
The Golden Marlins gave it everything they had and rallied and showed some heart to bring the tying run to the plate in the top of the 7th, but it was not to be this year. The Hornets rode the pitching of Chris Abrahms, who came up big when his team needed him most.
Congrats "Beaner" on a great clutch performance!

Chris came up huge last night for the Hornets. Chris started game two on Sunday and allowed four walks, 3 hits and 4 runs in one inning of work.

Last night Chris allowed a first inning run when Girard singled and Lochner doubled then blank the Marlins for the next five innings before tiring in the seventh. Bob Bolt who pitched a complete game on Sunday came on to get the final two outs.

We (Bolt, Nardacci, Lenox and me) were talking in the dugout and came to the conclusion that we have faced the Marlins (in one division or the other) in the semi finals or finals for 8 straight years now. Always fun to play you guys and I sure hope we keep the string alive a few more years.

good series with a nice come back performance from Chris. and that "break our back hit" by Jimmy Konstantakis in the 6th that plated a run and allowed the inning to continue and another run to score. 5-1 was doable 7-1 was a reach. well we certainly weren't rusty and Chris kept a good lineup from scoring with some clutch pitching in tight situations.
pleasure to have the competitive games through the years and divsions. I have even played on teams in tournaments with Ron Smaka, Carlo Agneto ( San Antonio 06) , Dick Stark (Cooperstown 02 ), and Billy Smith and Jimmy K. (numerous times in Florida but most remembered in our first 45 div Labor Day championship.) Chris spent a year as 35 Marlin. So its familair from several angles.
so good luck to the Hornets as you move forward in the playoffs. your third time vying for the 45 title. Don Hudson you watching?
and good luck to the A's and Thunder in game three Thursday night at Clifton Commons.
