When:Wednesday, Sept 30th Time:7pm Location: A Diamond (Central Park in sch'tdy)
The 2009 Roy Hobbs Champion Dodgers with a record of 20-2 will face JJ Pearsall and his 2009 35 Division Champion Mets with a record of 19-10-1.
This game is for bragging rights to see which league is more competitive.
The Mets will be led by former Triple A pitcher JJ Pearsall and will face off against the Dodgers high powered offense and great pitching. This looks to be an instant classic.
It will be a 9 inning game. Come out and support the CDMSBL players as they battle to try and bring home a victory for our league.
I would like to thank both teams for playing a great game on the coldest night of the fall thus far. With temperatures in the 40's both teams showed why they were their divisions champions.
The Dodgers struck 1st in the 4th inning with an RBI groundout by Jensen. The Dodgers posted another run in the 7th to give them a 2-0 lead. After the 7th Both Adam LaBarre (Dodgers) and JJ Pearsall (Mets) were taken out of the game as both had pitched gems. In the 8th the Dodgers added 3 runs to give them a 5-0 lead. In the 9th the Mets plated 2 runs off Jerry Faoila on timely hits and a big Dodger error. The Dodgers went on to beat the Mets 5-2. It was a great game played by both. The Dodgers didnt have many hits but played fundamental baseball putting the ball in play, hitting runners over, stealing bases and playing great defense.
