It's always a privilege to play baseball with all the cool guys in the CDMSBL. Just wanna thank all the well wishers for my rotator cuff surgery. Can't wait to get out there in the Spring and play. I'd just also like to say that the 2009 website really was quite an upgrade with a lot of work coming from our dedicated webmasters. I also think we should have a featured player of the week on the site for 2010. There are some players doing some incredible stuff that, if we could somehow post a weekly player, it would give us another dimension to the website. I know it's easier said than done. Also, a play of the week would be cool as well. I remember the Braves catcher making a diving play for a pop up in Cooperstown May 17 in the Braves Shaskys game, which was really incredible, considering he almost broke his neck just to get the out. He made another incredible catch the following inning but the first one would have been the play of the week. Anyway guys, thanks for another great season and being able to play baseball with the coolest bunch of guys in New York.
Great idea! I will def. look into that for next year. The 18, 25, 35, and 55 sites were ran by different people. The 45 site and overall site was handled my me. If guys are willing to help with this I am game.
nice idea, brian & Q, about celebrating good D next year.
2 thoughts to make it simpler & more graphic:
one, if managers or the official team scribe writes up at least a one paragraph game story for the bulletin board, then the "play of the game" could be highlighted in the story or at the end. that way, all summer long we can be reading about the exploits of different players nearly every day.
two, photos. i see the webmasters - who did a great job this year, brian's right; hat's off - posted photos of the championship teams in each division. we can see them all on the web's main page and then individually with each age division. that's great.
so, next year, let's invite players and fans to submit photos from games, which again could be posted on the web front and with the age divisions' pages. we did that off and on this past season and i think it added to the site. i'd like to see more of that and i'd imagine others would, too.
well, i've said enough for one season. stay warm this winter. see you in the spring.
