Mike Podgorski pitched a complete 7-inning game, giving up 1 earned run, and Anthony Torre went 4 for 4 to lead the offense as the WhizKids evened their record at 1-1 with the victory. DaBums were short-handed, but played hard until the last out.
Great to read the name "Anthony Torre" again. I wish him well. Anthony generates surprising power from one of the fastest bats in the league. He's a hurdler, too; a very gifted athlete under the surface. Someday the Pirates are going to have an old-timers game. The problem is: How will anyone tell the difference?
