This is just to let everyone know that Kevin Moon had a cadiac infarction this past weekend and is scheduled for a catherization. He is at St. Peters and the proceedure is being done today. If anyone wants to get in touch with him at the hospital or stop in, it should be after 3pm today. Call first at 525-7013 or just call to wish him a speedy recovery.
Just a quick update - I spoke to Kevin at about 3:00 PM - he was just getting ready to go in for the procedure which may last about 2 hours. He said he probably would be in a different room when they were done - so check at the desk or call for his room number.
don't like seeing just one name posted on the bulletin board. everybody's pulling for you, kev - even the guys you whiffed. heck, especially them - we want another crack at you. prayers, kev. better soon. - mike
Kevin, Yeah, I echo what Mike Hart said. You have always embodied what I love about this sport. It's me against you. Here's my best stuff. See what you can do with it. You never back down or pitch around anyone. Get well soon! I expect to see at least one more Ansel vs. Moon pitching battle before the season is done.
Another update - Kevin had the catheterization last night (Tuesday). He's doing fine right now. He will be in until at least Friday - they have to monitor the fluid built up around his heart. He is in great spirits. One thing he did ask - there is a certain teammate who works around the hospital that tries to sneak in and cuddle with him when he is drugged up. If you visit Kevin and see this person (to keep it anonymous we'll call him "Don) in bed with him, please pull "Don" out of the bed. Kevin needs his rest. Keep sending the good thoughts his way! (And Mike G - I'd like to see that Ansel/Moon matchup, also!)
A quick update. When I visited him this afternoon (Thurs 6/23) he was being wheeled back up from having 2 procedures. He was a bit groggy, but could still joke around. I did not stay long as he kept coming and going. He is a bit of a celebrity on the JR Gach show. Maybe he'll get his own radio show and we can be his guests.
