100+ new bats coming on Thursday 32" ash + the usual 33", 33.5" & 34" (ash & maple)

Hi guys - again, I'd like to thank all of guys who have purchased bats from me - I do appreciate it - approaching 200 bats sold!

I'm getting in about 100 new bats this week - a mixture of 33", 33.5" and 34" ash and maple - I had to take all of the guy's bats in order to get what I wanted so I will also be getting about 15 ash 32".

I will be ordering bats through out the season and will bring them to all of my own games - very excited - just got 2 Reebok bat portfolio cases - they hold 12 each.

Have begun to apply "CDMSBL" or "Old School" (which is now the name of my little company) the bats I'll be bringing with me - I think they look kinda nice.

I did have a bat break (Gards from the 25 Trojans) while we were taking BP - the wood had an internal flaw - I am replacing it NO CHARGE.

Lastly - If you break you bats (and you will - especially in the 25 division) - I am allowing $5 towards a new bat if you buy it form me.

The season is only, what 4-5 weeks away? Can't wait!

dear steve,
so let me get this straight. you will give me $5.00 american for every one of your bats i can break. please sell alot of them to the hurriclones,as i anticipate some firewood being generated on their part. also my buddy John C. you might want to start a lay away plan for him. he is going to need it.
regards,
the pitch that starts in the middle of the plate and ends up right above your hands

What about that pitch that starts somewhere in the middle of the plate and ends up somewhere towards your earflap? Only kidding Pete. I'm getting too old to duck high hard ones.

What about that pitch that starts on the middle of the plate and ends up in left field?!! I think these bats can put some there.

We'll see in a few weeks.

Mr. W - that's good stuff! $5.00 trade-in towards a new bat (one of mine) - bats break - just the way it is. I broke 7 last year which is how I got started doing this.

Some guys swear by Ash, but I dumped them after breaking bats on consecutive swings 5 years ago. Could have been an old batch, who knows? One was somewhat toward the trademark, the other was center barrel - $80 at bat.

Switched to Rock Maple - I typically don't break more than one per year (crap, just jinxed myself). I can usually tell when they are going to go poof by the sound changing.

Have seen other guys use Hickory (Rodney Dunbar) and Birch.

Lou - you must be using bocce balls for BP if you're breaking 7, you definitely have a better stroke than I do.

Pete

I've had one hit against you in my life...but what a hit it was! Marlins 2 Blue Thunder 1 runners on 2nd and 3rd, two outs, Jon Martin batting and I'm on deck. You called the catcher to the mound, looked right at me and promptly walked Jon Martin. I turned to my Thunder teammates and said "imagine that, some @#$hole who uses garden scenes on his web postings walking a batter to get to me!" I lined (softly blooped) your next fastball into left field. Final score Blue Thunder 3 Marlins 2.

See you in a few weeks!

leave poor pete alone ......... he didn't mind you getting the hit and beating us but when you make fun of his avatar you've crossed the line .........

If that is his avatar, does that mean he paints himself blue and runs around in his garden?

Good thing the season starts soon so we can stop posting on this board.

Pete - oh heck, thanks.

I only just started using a maple bat last year - they ALL break : ) The maple seems to be a bit harder and is more dense but it also seems to shatter when the pilot miscalculates and misses the runway. I guess the key is to always hit the ball in that nice 8" place on the bat. At this stage in our "careers", a bat isn't going to get any of us the next level : )

I would use whatever I could afford to break!

i'm thin kin i have to get a coupla bats at least. just was curious which was more apt to make it thru. i am SUCH a good hitter.i don't even know if it matters which ones i get.
p.s.- and by the way, lets get this out there for you whinning crybabies who get their panties in a bunch cuz you all don't like the fact when i pitch i don't hit, thereby robbing you of your opportunity to throw at ME if i happen to hit someone on your team with a pitch. i know who you are, i have been copied on all of your e-mails, and i have been filled in on your threats made behind my back at your little managers meetings. if you want to play that game you picked the right person to play it with.i grew up with a dad who stood 40 feet away and threw fastballs at me to teach me to move my feet and NOT get hit. if you think you are scaring me with that bull****,you better think again. i will NEVER throw at anyone to intentionally hurt them. that is insane. i would advise some of you fella's to take a deep breath and try to enjoy yourselves out there.
christ fokker,it's only a game

That flower is starting to hiss.

The way I look at it, as long as you keep your bodily fluids (a little blood OK) off the ball, we're good. Getting drilled once in a while is part of the game as long as it's below the nipples. If you don't want to get hit, lean back and bail early.

Everyone, including you Tommy McSmith, better ease up on the checkbook with new bat purchases, it might start to get expensive, that inside corner will be mine for the entire season, on another note, when I am at the plate, please stay away from the inside corner, I bought 3 of these babies!!!!!!!!
