As of today - Mike has not responded to treatment of his infection by various drugs and his fever remains. The St Peters team has determined that surgery will be necessary in the next day or two to go after the infection. Al Hart has been visiting Mike on a regular basis and providing status on his condition. Visitors are still restricted due to the nature of the MRSA staph bacterial infection. I will continue to post Mikes situation to keep folks informed. For cards or greetings......Mike is in Room 6229 at St Peters.
Mike- My family and I just got back from Florida and I just learned about your MRSA infection. Hang in there, it's a tough bug. My family and I wish you a speedy recovery. I look forward to seeing you on the field in 2010 where you rightly belong!
Mike - keep battling as you always have on the field.....maybe you need to go to your stash of Red Hot Chili Peppers to beat this thing....good thoughts are with you. The best to you and your family. JD
Mike, Just found out about your condition. MSRA sucks, but a strong, healthy guy like you will have no problem kicking its' butt. My 450 lb father-in-law, who couldn't walk before he had it, beat it. You will be fine, my friend. I look foward to seeing you on the diamond!!
Mike, I have just learned of your health issue, and my prayers our with you and your family. You are surely, one of the great guys in our league, and have given so much effort for making our league even better.
To Mike and his family. You're in our thoughts and prayers to get better and healthy. We all want to see you back on the diamond as soon as possible. Keep fighting and get well. Dan
Mike .. just want to echo everyone else's sentiments ...get well soon!
Do they have any better tv selection yet? ..... about 10 years ago i tore my calf muscle playing hoop and ended up forming a blood clot from the pooled blood (fairly common in lower leg muscle tears)
While i was ther David Wells pitched his perfect game .... and the friggin hospital didn't have msg so i missed it!
Your Shasky teammates are pulling for you, buddy. We want to see your smiling face back out there sooner rather than later this summer, so please get well soon and know that you are in our thoughts and our prayers.
Hang in there Bud..Look on the bright side, you'll be fine and all you'll miss is the rainy mess. You won't miss any of the good weather.. See you out on the diamond.
