In a game called in the 6th inning the Dodgers outlasted the Cougar's 7-3. John Corrigan led the Dodgers attack with 2 hits, 2 rbi's, 2 runs scored including a Home Run,Frank Kerbein also added 2 hits. Wayne Newcomb picked up the pitching victory. The Cougar's played a very good game. Frank has got some good players on his team and I would not take this team lightly.
I'd add only that our rookie starting pitcher, Jim Kisselburgh, making his first competitive appearance in 25 years, pitched splendidly in hard luck for the Cougars. He scattered a handful of hits and yielded only 2 earned runs (I think...those e.r.a. rules are so complicated!). If only our defense had fielded as well as Jim pitched, it would have been a different game.
