Dodgers win in the Bottom of the 7th

Monarch Notes Version

After a pitching duel between the Giants and Marlins that had no score going into the sixth inning, the Dodgers and Yankees wasted no time in scoring as both teams scored in the first inning. The Yanks took a 2-1 lead and extended to 5-1. The Dodgers scored five runs to knock out Pete Westphal to lead 6-5. The Yanks came right back to go ahead 8-6 and the Dodgers tied it up in the sixth. And in the final frame after an intentional walk to load up the bases Eddie O. flared a single into right field for the dramatic win. I didn't have the book so I apologize for leaving out the hitting stars from both sides. Two evenly matched teams that resulted in an exciting game.

Wishing everyone a pleasant Mothers' Day...

The hitting stars for the Dodgers were John Corrigan who had 4 hits, scored 4 runs and had 2 rbi's, Ed Oberbutussing had 3 hits and the game winning rbi, also Rob Shellhouse contributed 2 hits.

For the Yankees I show Kevin Jackson, and Don Dunham with 2 hits each. I don't have 1st names for these 2 players but Royka, and Hutchensen also had 2 hits.

A very good game on both teams part. Always a pleasure playing the Yankees.
