on a beatiful May evening at New Scotland park the Hummingbirds struck early for 3 runs in the first inning of starter Jallah Kujic which was his first innings on a mound this year, couldnt find command of his stuff and ended up getting pulled after hitting a couple batters, with 1 out in the first inning and Hummingbirds on base Lex herrlett took the hill and luckily put a stop to the bleeding for the time being shutting the birds down , the Yankees scrounged a run to keep it close in the next innings rallying in the sixth the Yankees plated a few more runs to take a short lived lead, 4-3 , in the top of 7th the birds lead off batter drew a walk and it seemed that they finally figured out Lex's sequence and the next batter BATTLED pitch after pitch fighting off some tough pitches till getting the one he liked and hit a BOMB straight away center field I thought that it was going to have to pay extra for luggage it was hit so high and deep but luckily it stayed in the park drove in the tieing run with a double, the Yankees then put the rally to an end with some solid defensive plays inning over, in the bottom 7th Tom( I wear a Red sox shirt under my yankees jersey) Bradley lined a single bringing up the top of the order in Lex Herrlett after Tom missed the steal sign haha on the first pitch Lex down 0-1 now Tom stole second Pitch where there was an over throw into center field Tom STUMBLED to 3rd where the throw was erroneous from center to third going to the fence bounced high rolling along the top of the fence allowing TOM to BUMBLE HOME FOR THE GAME WINNING RUN! All in all a great game!!! the Birds were a tough opponent all through their line up and I am sure the rematch on the 16th will look to give revenge to the birds to tie the season series Good game and fun had by all
