once more, thank you

to the all fellows who recently posted get well wishes. that's tommy smith, jim porter, ed obertubessing, jim kastantakis, jim dalton, ed class, ray demers, rob currier and gino rodriguez:

thank you.

i've gotten a number of written notes and phone calls from guys in the league and i wanted you all to know they're not falling on deaf ears. they're real lifts and they help give me energy as i go through my exercises.

i was especially touched by ed & jim's notes. your memory is good and strong. i recall, ed, how moved you were by kyle's death. it's very sad loss, a cruel shame.

i was lucky. i'm guessing the surgeon pulled me back about about a day or two from the end of the line.

on that front, good news: yesterday, i walked 160 feet without a walker, which is an improvement by 60, and made it through my first out-of-hospital rehab visit.

by the way, if you ever need to visit a rehab center, i couldn't recommend more john repscher & associates in the northeast medical building on everett road in albany. a cardiologist recommended the place to me. one of john's primary focuses is athletes. it fits. it turns out that some 40 years ago, john and i played football on the same team at cortland state. we'd both forgotten each other. he was a halfback; i was a safety and punter. we had a laugh. it also turns out we broke bones at pretty much the same time that season.

remember, guys, your momma was right: wash them hands.

and again, thank you.

-mike

Great to hear of your recovery Mike! Look forward to seeing you back where you belong...between the white-lines.....

Unless of course you play at Cohoes, Burnt Hills or Farnsworth where there are no lines.
