Cyclones 4 Yankees 3

It seems to be a recurring theme in the CDMSBL so far this season....another of the most thrilling games you'd ever want to see! The 45+ Cyclones picked up their first-ever win Sunday afternoon at New Scotland with a 4-3 triumph over a very tough Yankees team. LF Ed Schreiber had the game-winning hit for the Cyclones, a scorcher over the third-base bag in the bottom of the 7th that scored 3B Mark Mitchell, who'd walked and stole second...and then stole third! Vince Koster picked up the win, going all the way, scattering seven hits and walking four--three in the top of the 7th, when he got out of a bases-loaded jam with a pop-up to second.

Also for the Cyclones, Tommy Smith continued his torrid hitting with a booming triple to the RF fence that tied the game in the 6th inning...his second extra-base hit of the season!

Thanks to Don and the Yankees for one of the best games I've ever played in. I had several of the Yankees tell me this was the kind of competitive back-and-forth game they liked to see!

Tommy:
One of my favorites, you dropped on me last year.

I didn't see smoke, but started to take on water and list a bit after two. Thanks to Harold Jenkins and Pete Westfall for guiding me in to my slip.

Guiding you into a slip would require something much larger than a shoe horn...
The mental picture is killing me...
