The Cubs were banged up and short handed Monday night at Bob Moore, but were still able to scratch out a 5-3 victory by riding the complete game (10 stike out) performance by Phil Gadomski. The game was tied 3-3 going into the bottom of the sixth inning. The Cubs got a double from Randy Craft, a single from Jim Walter, and consecutive sacrafice flys by Jon Martin and Jim McQuade to provide the winning margin. Gadomski set down the Highlanders in order, in the top of the 7th to secure the victory. The Cubs next face the Pirates on Wednesday night at Bethlehem, in an early season match-up of title contenders. It promises to be a great game as ex-Silver Marlins team mates get together on opposite sides for the first time in a regular season game!
