on a beautiful night at BURNT HILLS HS yankees and Nationals sqaure off for the 2nd game of their series. Nationals got off to a quick start scoring 1 in the top of the first. The Yankees playing without their Ace JJ Pearsall, came back in the bottom half to an early lead with the help of Nationals starting pitching walking 5 and hitting 2 of the 1st 10 batters he faced. Yankees got up 6-3 when the Nationals Plate a few more runs in the 5th and 6th to tie the game with Lex Herrlett giving up some walks and some timely hitting by the Nationals. With the score 6-6 to the 7th inning nationals get a guy on but the rally was put to an end with a caught stealing , and with the meat of the order up it helped out trmenedously, side was retired and Yankees come up to bat with the bottom of the order coming through off pitcher Darnell Baker with a double, bringing up the top of the order Lex herrlett hits the game winning WALK OFF single with a drawn in outfield with 2 outs an exciting game played on both teams parts battling to the end,

Hey Danny - I don't know who you are, but it's Fitz (I'm Irish, not German). You're opening your mouth an awful lot for someone that nobody knows. First of all, I did call you guys scrubs and for that I apologize. I'm a big enough man to admit that was wrong, but for you to suggest that I feel or am a Superstar and have an ego you should ask all the players in this league how I am.
And after the game you guys were yelling "JJ who", give me a break. Yes you beat us fair and square without him, but your team would not have the record it does without JJ.
Hate to bog down a perfectly good crap storm with facts but here are some interesting points:
Yankees v. teams ahead of them or tied with them in the standings: 2-3 Yankees v. teams behind them in the standings: 6-2
Hitting:
Number of Yankees in the top ten in batting average: 0 Number of Yankees in the top ten in RBI: 0 Number of Yankees in the top ten in runs scored: 0
Pitching:
JJ Pearsall has an incredible 51 strikeouts in 25.1 IP. He's allowed nine runs (only five earned) and has a WHIP of 0.67. He's 3-0 in three starts (with one relief appearance) and even has a no-hitter (which wasn't a CGSO because the opponent actually scored a run on a no-hitter).
Now, to be fair, Lex Herlett is also in the top ten in pitching ERA with a 2.51. Lex has allowed 15 runs (eight earned) in 22.1 IP. His WHIP is a respectable 1.52 but that's slightly inflated by his 14 BB allowed which is second highest in the league.
The Yankees do allow their fair share of unearned runs. The Yankees have 27 errors in only 13 games (and they don't keep track of individual fielding statistics, by the way).
Not trying to pick sides here, just presenting facts. Now, the Yankees have a bunch of incomplete pitching stats (they only account for eight games in the pitching department eventhough the team has played 13 games) but there are some trends you can pick up on.
What I find most intriguing is that Fitz decided to call out the defending champs. Whether you want to believe that they won that championship on the back of one player is your choice - an observation, by the way, that's not exclusive to Fitz; many other people have whispered that around the league. But the fact is the Yankees (formerly the Mets) are the defending champs and now they may have a reason to play with a chip on their shoulders.
Should be fun to watch the rest of the year. And since we have a double-header coming up agains the Yanks, I want to personally thank Fitz for upsetting them.
I joined this league to have fun. It's people like "the hurricane" that give this league a bad name. Besides who do you think you are giving yourself a nickname. Please take a step back and realize we're 40 yr. olds playing baseball to have fun. Posting those Yankee stats makes you look like an ass. You owe this league an apology for being so petty. BTW, I really miss the after game cooler sessions. Maybe at The Bob next Monday. I'm sorry if I offened anyone else but "the hurricane."
OK GIRLS NOW PLAY NICE...LMAO. WHY DONT EVERYONE SHUT THE F_ _ k UP AND PLAYBALL. WE ARE NOT PLAYING IN LITTLE LEAUGE ANYMORE......I HOPE I DIDNT UPSET ANYONE, ITS ALL IN FUN, BUT SOME OF YOU GUYS GET TO UPTIGHT AND NEED TO RELAX....
Welcome Shep! Just poking fun at a new guy doing the posts. It is not as easy as Mike Hart makes it look. Don't know what all this other nonsense was about. Last time I checked it doesn't matter how you win.
The Met's won last year, and that is all that matters. This Yankee team is not that team. They lost a lot in Chris Dunn and a lot more in Jim Bonaparte. Jim did all the things for a team that nobody wants to do, and these guys are finding that out fast.
But who really wants to dissect why, when it comes to winning. The 2009 Mets picture will be up on the website until the 2010 champ is crowned. Good luck to all in trying to climb that mountain. This is a very competitive league from 1 to 10. Injuries, luck, and most of all team work will decide it! Not the horse **** I'm reading here!

Ryan Johnson 35 Yankees
Nicknames online are commonplace. I'm not quite sure why you find it so appalling especially since it appears as though you use one yourself (Ryno).
I post the Yankee stats on the 35+ website because the league asks me to do it. I volunteer my time to help make the league what its players want it to be. The players, managers and board of directors want statistics to be posted, I stepped up and volunteered. I'm sorry you think statistics are burdonsome but you're not the one entering them on behalf of THE ENTIRE LEAGUE.
I'm sorry you guys got DQ'ed from the post-season awards for failing to post your stats until after the season was over. We went over this in extensive detail for months so I won't rehash it here. If you really feel that having the stats subtracts from the "fun" your having and you feel the majority of people agree with it, then petition the league to have them removed for 2011. I get the feeling that's the subliminal message that underlies your post.
I'm sorry you feel offended by the statistics. Your teammate called out a good guy and my former manager (Joe Fitzgerald) so I thought I'd just point out the facts rather than just leave things to conjecture.
To the league: I am sorry for being so "petty" as to input statistics on your behalf. I apologize for "looking like an ass" by wasting my time to input stats in an obviously vain attempt to make the league more appealing to the majority. I apologize for my obviously offensive nickname and I vow that I will never, ever again try to help out the good guys in this league like Joe Fitzgerald so that I may not offend any members of the Yankees.
