I am asking for your support in contributing to the Special Olympics by sponsoring me in my latest attempt to prove that I believe in this organization..... and that I am truly nuts.
I have pledged to raise $1000.00 by August 8th; I have no corporate sponsorship to help me reach my goal. I am reaching out to family, friends and fellow athletes for your help. My commitment upon attaining this goal is to climb over the side of the Crown Plaza in Albany, and rappel 18 stories down. Day of reckoning will be August 20, 2010.
The competitive drive for their chosen sport is no less than our drive to compete and succeed in the sport or adventure we choose to participate in. However, unlike us, who have the means to somehow support our passions, the competitors in the Special Olympics need our assistance. I have done several events to show my support and have met some incredible participants. Their pride, passion and the love they have for their event is no less than ours in our sport. Take advantage of any opportunity you may have to see these athletes in action and I feel you will agree with me.
I know these are difficult times financially and that many worthwhile organizations are asking for help. Any contribution that is made will go towards helping these athletes reach their dreams.
