Sorry for the late report, just realized I didn't get this in. The Senators broke open a tie game with 4 runs in the top of the 7th for an 8-4 win over the Cyclones, while dodging the raindrops at New Scotland. The Senators were led offensively by Ron McCarthy with 3 hits, Chris Leahey, Ron Colloins and Ed Class with 2 each George Schillinger scoring 3 runs and Ron Collins knocked in 3. Ed Class got the win giving up 5 hits while striking out 4 and walking 3. Not too sure about the Cyclones stats, as the rain made a mess of the book, but Vince Koster had a couple of hits and pitched a nice game before handing it over to some other guy in the 7th!! Worm

Don't worry, Dave. Our book was a bit of a mess, too. This was a very tough, competitive game between the division's two newest teams. As always, Vince Koster gave everything he had on the mound, and had it not been for a couple of tough errors and a baserunning gaffe or two, the game might have turned out a bit differently. In any case, congratulations to the Senators! I think the two of us are going to be around for a while.... Read
