In a game that went 8 inninngs the Dodgers escaped with a hard fought victory over a tough Cyclones club Sunday morning.
With the score tied 3-3 after 4 inninngs the Cyclones scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 5th to go up 7-3. The Dodgers came right back in the top of the 6th to plate 4 runs to tie the game. The Cyclones had a chance to win the game in the bottom of the 7th inning loading the bases with 2 outs when the Dodgers got the last out on a soft liner back to the pitcher.
The Dodgers then scored 4 runs in the top of the 8th and closed out the game and escaped with a hard fought victory over a good Cyclones team.
For the Dodgers Ed Rogers had 3 hits and picked up the pitching victory, Wayne Newcomb, Nick Kanellis, Mike LaBarge, Jose Moreno, Paul Celentano each had 2 hits.
For the Cyclones Vince Koster and Tommy Smith each had 2 hits, also Dave Webber had a double.
