Standings Ties

I was doing a writeup for the 35+ upcoming games and how they could affect the playoff chase and I was wondering what happens int he event of a tie in the standings? I would assume it would be head-to-head matchups but we have a few potential standings ties as well as season series ties between teams.

What is the next tie-breaker?

Runs scored?
Run Differental?
Run Differential in the head-to-head matchups?

Something else?

Also, I need scores from games and stats folks. Season ends soon!

In a copy of the League rules that I have, Article 11 (if it is current) says that final league standings will be determined by won-lost percentage. Tie-breakers will be decided by head-to-head competition first, followed by a coin toss. I thought in the past there was some talk about run differential between any teams tied after head-to-head competition, but I don't have anything in writing. Anyone else have anything?

In the 25's we use........

1. W's/L's
2. Head to Head
3. Runs Allowed
4. Runs Scored
5. Then if all else failed it would be coin toss!

Head to Head should be viewed as............not just we won once and you won once.

It should be Game 1-Cannons-10 Outlaws-3
Game 2-Outlaws-11 Cannons-2
Total-Outlaws-14 Cannons-12
Outlaws would be the Higher Seed!

This would get rid of any of the problems with tie breakers. If by chance you tied in both then you move to Runs allowed.

I like that method a lot - except it could encourage teams to run up scores.....

Just thinking out loud.

Most of the time managers are pretty good about calling off the dogs so to speak if its the 2nd inning and its 11-0. Most teams would go base to base.

I think this method works great!

Do we have a determination? We have one tie in the standings and the teams in question played twice with each going 1-1.

Coin flip?

Run differential in head-to-head games?

Runs for?

Runs against?

I've got a playoff bracket ready to post and I just need to know how a tie is broken.....

REceived clarification and as a result of the Nationals v. Pirates head-to-head matchup ending 11-10 in favor of the Nationals, the Nats get the #7 seed.
